Chieftain Family Sport
Description:
Following Eagle's release of the 2006 Intimidator GT, purposely made to try and take a bite of GTH's market, they felt like they needed to retaliate.
In late 2007 GTH released th Chiftain Family Sport. Performance wise, it didn't match up to the Intimidator, but it was no slouch and a bit lighter, both in weight and on the wallet!
The Chieftain was specifically made to market in the USA, and the styling is quite obviously American inspired. It got a very balanced GPI score, with a surprisingly decent fuel economy from the 4L NA V8 engine.
It sold in average numbers in Europe, but it really took off in the US and sold in masses, much to Eagle's dismay.
Amazingly, 12 years later, the Chieftain is still on sale and doing well. Petrolheads have been asking for a sportier version, or even a track edition of the Chieftain for years, but to no avail.
Price at launch in 2007:
$38.700
