Napoleon Made a system of laws. This helped the country remove many crimes and give body to how the law is held. These laws are known as the Napoleonic code. But a negative of this is that it was so supportive of authority it actually limited individual rights of people. So slavery was back in order and no more freedom of speech/press.Added to timeline:
