During the PNE that year Patrick hosted an event in the Pacific Coliseum very early one morning where it was announced that Vancouver would be shortlisted as one of three candidate cities with Salzburg and PyeongChang. It was where we first started our journey alongside the big Olympic countdown clock. We watched that clock tick down for 8 years (admittedly I did unplug it a few times)
