Description:

Th first college to allow blacks to attend its school was the University of Alabama. His name was James Hood. Because of TV news footage of the attacks on blacks in Birmingham, AL, Kennedy proposed the civil rights act- that would outlaw segregation everywhere. He sent in federal troops to protect blacks who were trying to enter into desegregated school
