Members of CREEP broke into the Democratic National Convention headquarters in the Watergate Hotel, to plant listening devices. It was later discovered that the men involved in the break-in were part of Nixon's administration, and Nixon paid the men to admit to the break-in, and cover up White House involvement.Added to timeline:
