Description:

A white girl I had know had taken a DNA test that came back with results stating that she was 6% native american. She used this to validate her ability to mark boxes on college application. because of this action, she was accepted into a Syracuse Newhouse and even received an invite into their Indigenous people program. It was here that I had realized that white people used other racial categories and that schools genuinely accept students based off of their race. This highlighted the promenade amounts of tokenism in our society and the college experience.
