Description:

In 8th grade classes got segregated by reading levels which were evaluated by the teacher. I was one of the three kids in the honors section which was all black kids. We received a reading aid for this section which made no sense because we were considered to be proficient readers. Only our class, the one containing black students, received an aid while the rest did not.
