Description:

It allowed US intervention in Cuba's domestic affairs and an US military colony (Guantanamo naval base) which is now a detention camp and torture chamber. US controlled 80% of Cuban utilities, 90% of Cuban mines and cattle ranches, and 40% of the sugar industry. Cuba was used for US gambling, real estate operators, hotel owners, and mobsters. It was in the Cuban constitution until 1934
