jan 1, 1894 - William Henry's workers move to Bedford

Description:

William Henry and family together with some of his workers moved to Bedford. Queens Park owes its development to the establishment of Queens Engineering Works opposite the main railway station. Within six years new streets extended as far west as The Bell Inn, whose name may recall the bell at the gate of the Queens Works that was installed because the residents of Bedford objected to a common hooter.
HOW HAS THIS CHANGED CHARACTER OF PLACE?
the inn will provide a place for residents to stay, as well as this, there will also be numerous houses constructed in order to provide accommodation for the new workers, these houses will be terraced residencies similar to those found in the area today.
