- Before 1937, women were encouraged to stay home, care for the family, produce and raise German children (the more the better)
- Lots of allowances and benefits awarded to families with children or having children (higher wages, low interest loans, lower income tax)
- Due to a lack of male labour, women encouraged to join after 1937
