apr 21, 1970 - 1970 PRIMO Automobili
Velocità Eleganza
Description:
The Velocità was a revolution, and is widely regarded to as the "Icon of the 70's". It's radical design was head turning and for it's time it had some quality components.
The engine is a very smooth 2.9L inline 5, producing 225 horsepower, in a pretty lightweight car of just north of 1100kg. As a testament on how well the car was designed and made, it outscores quite a few modern cars in the GPI rankings despite being almost 50 years old.
Quality comes at a price, and Primo are known for anything else then being cheap. Costing north of 8 grand back in 1970 it was not a car anyone could enjoy. However, people with money flocked at it. Everyone wanted to turn heads in the premium wedge.
The Velocità has preserved well and quite a few of them are found today in great condition.
Price at launch in 1970:
$8.280
