dec 10, 1945 - 1945 ROMANOV Industries Carrier Family Plus

Description:

The Carrier was the first car made by Romanov, and remained the only model under their name for 67 years. It was made after the war and was not made for profit or international success. It's purpose was to provide the public with a cheap option for transportation.

Although the Carrier was actually very popular nationally in the years following the war, it was mainly due to being dirt cheap rather then being good. Romanov never attempted to sell it commercially outside of the country, as it was never the intention.

Weirdly enough, it's got a sizable 3.9L 6 cylinder boxer engine, producing 156 horsepower. The engine proved to be way over the top for the skinny little tires and the cheap suspension and it was a horrible drive. Despite that, it sold in huge numbers due to it's affordability.

Price at launch in 1945:
$800
