Description:
The decision to send Spanish troops to Morrocco precipitated widespread chaos in Spain. The protests were based on the inequalities of Military service. The disruptions led to general strikes and rioting. Martial Law was imposed and opponents of the government were arrested. A well known anti-cleric by the name of Francisco Ferrer was executed. This caused a lot of criticism through out europe. Spanish prime minister, Maura was forced to resign, and the king invited the liberal party to form a government.
