Description:

The popular front was formed in 1936 by the left wing republican parties. The popular front condemned the actions of the conservative-led government, and demanded to release the political prisoners which were detained after November 1933, rehiring of state employees who were suspended, fired, or transferred "without due process or for reasons of political persecution" The popular front proposed to establish an independent judiciary from the control of the government. The popular front also stressed political moderation against radicalism.
