aug 10, 1929 - The Great Depression
Description:
When the Great Depression had occured it caused Spain to plunge into a deep economic crisis and the anger from lower classes could no longer be suppressed by the monarchy. Spain’s industrial production, foreign trade, investments, imports, and consumptions had declined during the Great Depression. The people of Spain had begun to believe that the reason their economy was suffering this crisis was because of the resignation of Primo de Rivera. Which had convinced them that monarchy/dictatorship that was operating and controlling Spain was no longer efficiently representing or achieving any of their political agendas or needs. With the economic crisis greatly affecting lives of spanish they had decided that this was the last straw and they’ve had enough and it was time for Spain to become a republic once again. The Great Depression was the beginning of Spain's Second Republic as well as the start of multiple rebellions and revolutions from the left and right wing.
