dec 1, 2015 - Every Child Succeeds Act (ESSA)
Description:
The Every Child Succeeds Act was a reauthorization of previous legislation, the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. It revised aspects of No Child Left Behind. ESEA requires states to “establish standards, assessments, and accountability systems” in order to provide greater educational access to a broader range of the population.
ESSA also permits states to establish alternative assessments for children with cognitive impairments.
