jun 28, 1931 - General Election 1931
Description:
Alfonso XIII had agreed to to a democratic election after Spain had not allowed an election for 60 years and he would also be sent into exile in order to avoid violent protest from Spanish civilians. An election was held and the Socialist party and other left wing parties won by a large margin. This marked the beginning of the Second Republic. This would be the beginning of the left and right wing's repeated fight for power and tearing down progress made by the other side. The left would implement reforms that they support then the right would gain power and destroy all progress made by the left then implement their policies.
