On May 10th, Niceto Alcala Zamora was replaced as president by the left-wing Manuel Azaña, afterwards talks from Francisco Franco and other Army Officers commenced and plans to overthrow the Popular Front government came to fruition. Spanish Officers from Morocco led by Francisco Franco came to take over mainland Spain, within days Morocco was conquered and several cities were under rebel/nationalist control.
