jan 1, 1931 - Alfonso XIII agreed to democratic elections
Description:
When King Alfonso agreed to democratic elections, this was the first time in sixty years that Spain allowed to have democratic elections inside of its government infrastructure. When the time came for Spain to vote, they voted strongly for the government infrastructure to be turned into a Republic. This would leave Alfonso to exile himself to avoid any large-scale violence. Miguel Primo De Rivera also was exiled around the same time.
