The Spanish Republic was proclaimed after the monarchy lost its support after the elections against the Republicans. The reaction from the people of the Spanish Republic was a relief as many specifically the lower class hoped that their lives would improve for the better. During this time the Republic hoped to give rights to the people such as rights to women, working class and providing education.
