The rape of Nanjing or the Nanjing was an attack on the capital of china at the time Nanjing were thousands of men and women were killed and raped thus earning the name the rape of Nanjing. It was caused by the Japanese nationalism and Japanese expansionism. Japan wanted more resources because they were running out and due to having a superior military, they attack china and its neighboring countries for resources and territory. These attacks led to Hitler realizing a possible ally and it further emboldened japan during its conquest.
