The Weimar republic was formed 9th of November 1918 after the events of the first world war the main cause of this was because the rich and powerful citizens in Germany at the time held all the power and this was one of the many major causes of the first world war so the aim was to put the power into the hands of the vast majority. Although this a good way to stop corrupt people getting into power but many of the public hated the new government because the Weimar republic signed the treaty of Versailles which was forced upon them by the allies which led to suffering for the German citizens during the great depression. The fall of the Weimar republic was cause by the Germans citizens false hope that the Nazi party could be the answer to there prayers which brought the Nazi party further into power which led to the fall of democracy.
