Description:

Hitler became Fuhrer on the second of August 1934 when the last President died and he appointed himself Fuhrer. This was the day the last vestiges of democratic Germany disappeared.

Causes:
-1933 President Paul von Hindenburg appointed him as Chancellor
-1934 President Paul von Hindenburg died and Hitler took control, becoming Fuhrer or 'leader' and the soldiers swore an oath of loyalty to their new leader
Effects:
-The holocaust
-The invasion of Poland and subsequently the beginning of World War 2
