Description:
In 1930, Miguel Primo De Rivera resigns from his title of dictator. Primo De Rivera came into power to with the support of the King at the time and the army who all helped him lead a military coup leaving him as ruler of Spain. He originally was only going to rule for 90 day. However he broke that and continuted to rule over Spain. He enforced taxes of the rich and tried to reduce unemployment however both policies were unsuccessful and lead to inflation and the military loosing their trust in Primo De Rivera ultimately causing him to resign as dictator. Right before he resigns, Wall Street crashes and the world starts to go into the great depression. This leads to the country being in a troubled state and the citizens were dissatisfied with all Primo De Rivera and what he had been doing. The resignation of Miguel Primo De Rivera left the people feeling free from dictatorship but also nervous at the start of the new republic that would be formed.
