1h 29min, dec 13, 1937 y - Nanjing Massacre

Description:

Nanjing Massacre is also known as Rape of Nanjing, the mass murder and ravaging of Chinese citizens and the capitulation of troops by Japanese Imperial Army soldiers after its capture of Nanjing, China, on 13 December 1937, during the Sino-Japanese War. This population increase was primarily due to the invasion of Japan in 1931 which forced thousands of refugees to migrate to Nanking and other Chinese cities. On 11 November 1937, Japanese forces marched into Nanking after Shanghai was under Japanese influence. The German leader of the International Nanking Security Zone Commission, John Rabe, reported that approximately 50,000 and 60,000 Chinese were killed in Nanking, although this number included both military casualties and civilian massacres.
