teaching in Rwanda, akin to the residential schools established to assimilate Indigenous children in Canada's history. These missionaries were also sent to imbue Indigenous people to a more European character, as was the same when missionaries came to assimilate Canada's Indigenous peoples. The most prominent root of these actions taken by Belgium, especially these missionaries, point to a strong belief in Eurocentrism.
