The Washington Naval Treaty was a treaty signed during 1922 among the major nations that had won World War 1, which agreed to prevent an arms race by limiting naval construction. Held in Washington, from November 1921 to February 1922, was signed by the governments of the United states, France, Japan and Italy, limiting the number of battleships, destroyers, submarines and number of men in a German army.
