aug 15, 1648 - August 1648- Parisian people rise up and barricade the streets in response to the arrest of several Parliament members. In response to the refusalof Parliament to approve the government's revenue, Cardinal Mazarin (Anne of Austria's advisor) arrested two of the outspoken Parliament members, notably Pierre Broussel. The Parisian people took to the streets to protest this, and the arrested members of Parliament were released.
