oct 5, 1929 - The Great Depression (1929 - 1939)

Description:

The Great Depression was the worst economic downturn in the history of the modern world, lasting from 1929 to 1939. It started after the stock market collapse of October 1929, which sent Wall Street into a scare and wiped out millions of investors. Over the next several years, user spending ad investment dropping, causing steep failures in industrial output and employment as failing corporations laid off workers. By 1933, when the great depression struck rock-bottom, some 15 million Americans were out of work and nearly half of the country’s banks had collapsed.
