Description:
This was the most controvesial Treaty made by the US. Three of teh chiefs that signed it gave up most of the land on the parcel of Chief Menominee's reservation. That said, Menominee's signiture was not on the document.
Menominee was enraged and refused to leave his land. Menominee had the support of the Catholic Church (for he had converted to Catholisism) but the government still refused to let him stay on his land.
