Description:
Miners from Ballarat were not happy about how the colonist government were running the mines. They didn’t like how you had to get a licence to mine and they weren’t allowed to vote, so they built a stockade next to the southern cross flag on Bakery Hill. They swore allegiance to the flag, but government troops and police attacked, the fight last 15 mins they arrested 113 miners, killed 22 diggers. The police might have won that battle but the miners won the war, the licence was removed the miners were allowed to vote soon after the attack.
