Description:
Gold was discovered by Edward Hargraves near the city Orange. John Lister, William and James Tom joined him near Bathurst looking for gold, in a few weeks they had a small amount of gold and showed it to the government. They got prize of £100000. When the word had spread hundreds of people came looking for gold. The population went from 77345 to 538628 people because of the goldrush. Some people got rich; some people didn’t find anything.
