Description:

Federation was when all six of the colonies came together as one nation under the commonwealth. Meaning a legislation had to go through the queen of England at the time the queen was Queen Victoria the first. Western Australia voted after the queen given royal assent so they could only join if they built a railway to link the eastern states.
