At the end of World War I, in a peace conference in France, the Allies wanted alot of peace treaties that would be imposed on the defeated Central Powers.
The treaty of versailles was the most important of the peace treaties that brought World War 1 to an end. The treaty ended the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers.
One of the most controversila terms of the treaty was the War huilt cause, which explicity and directly blamed Germany for the outbreak of hostiles. The treaty forced Germany to disarm, to make territorial concessions, and pay reparations to the Allied powers in the staggering amount of $5 billion.
