When the first fleet landed in Australia it was the first non-indigenous human to plant their foot in Australian soil. After arrival and taking over land, the British attempted to build shelters, but had little shelter as the tools they were provided were not in good condition and were given little building materials. After settling, it changed how Australia is colonised and now with many different cultures.
