Description:
Turner’s early work, such as “A View of the Archbishop’s Palace, Lambeth” displays a fine technique in capturing the exterior of a building. It is particularly impressive considering that he was only 15 years old when he painted this work. Turner’s early start secured his admittance into the Royal Academy. Turner’s career and the success of the Royal Academy are synonymous with each other. As Turner’s notoriety grew, the academy was able to secure its position as the prevalent center of public art.
