Description:

With renewed attempt to gain Holy Roman Emperor title, Alfonso wanted to gain domestic
support.
Convened Cortes of Burgos in September 1272 to convince them to help him. Instead, they entered the service of King of Granada.
Alfonso asked his wife, Violante and son, Fernando de la Cerda, to negotiate with the rebels. Comprise reached in March 1273.
Following this, went to secure recognition by Pope Gregory X.
