Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini was the head of the National Fascist Party and an Italian activist and writer. From 1922 to 1943 he ruled Italy as prime minister; he led the country constitutionally until 1925 when he dropped the pretence of democracy and created a dictatorship. what caused Mussolini to become the leader was, Mussolini founded the fascist party and said the Italian government was week and was able to capitalize on public discontent. there was political chaos throughout Italy. to resolve order Mussolini declared he could do it and he was given the title of prime minister in 1922. Mussolini dismantled the institutions of democratic government and established a relationship between Hitler.
