Description:

Peru gained independence from Spain on July 28, 1821. For just about 300 years Peru worked as a Spanish settlement, yet in the mid-nineteenth century, local discontent and pioneer revolts brought calls of autonomy, confined uprisings, and afterward, the civil war in 1821, with the Spanish at long last vanquished in 1824. The Liberation of Peru. José de San Martín and his powers freed Peru and announced its autonomy from Spain on 28 July 1821. After verifying Chilean freedom, with an armada directed by the courageous Lord Cochrane, he attacked Peru and pronounced autonomy in Lima in 1821, with himself as a despot.
