The treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty that was signed at the end of ww1. Germany was losing the war and needed it to finish, not to mention that they were running out of money, so they accepted a treaty that the allies proposed. The treaty made Germany take full responsibility for the war, they had to give up all of their equipment and they were restricted to a small sized army.
