Description:

It was proposed by Henry Clay and passed by the United States Congress. It was created on an attempt to solve slavery issues and to avoid a conflict between the North and the South. There were five laws that were passed and they were that slave trade in Washington D.C. is illegal, California is now a free state in the Union, territorial government was created in Utah, the Fugitive Slave Act was amended, and finally the boundary dispute between Texas and New Mexico was settled.
