Description:

It was signed in Mexico City and ended the Mexican War with the United States being victorious. It added 525,000 square miles to the US which includes the land that makes up the states Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. In addition of Mexico giving land, they gave up all claims of Texas to the USA. Also they understood that the Rio Grande is America’s southern boundary. In return the United States gave Mexico $15,000,000 and agreed to settle all claims of United States citizens opposing Mexico.
