The world wide web is created by Tim Berners-Lee. Though the Internet itself wasn't actually invented in 1991, the world wide web was the most recognizable thing to come out of the internet's conception, especially since personal computers were becoming more commonly sold. Shortly after the release of the web, it became the most common means of accessing data online with the use of websites and hyperlinks.
