Greenstone Holdings Ltd announces plans for a three-storey apartment complex in Albert Street, Otahuhu, to be known as 'Greenstone Gardens'. Plans include 72 rental apartments, a swimming pool, sauna room, creche and playgrounds. The development fails, and by the 1990s the complex has become a Housing New Zealand rental complex of some notoriety. The building is redeveloped in 2005.
