Description:

Democritus declares the theory of the Atom and that all things are made up from it. He also claimed that the properties of matter were defined by the shape of its atoms (e.g. Bitter things are made from sharp atoms while sweet things are made from smooth atoms. However, other renowned philosophers, including Aristotle, disagreed with this, declaring that all things are made up of the four elements: fire, water, earth and air.
