aug 6, 1958 - Otara - MCC and MoW sign memorandum

Description:

A Memorandum of Agreement is signed between the Ministry of Works and Manukau County Council outlining their respective responsibilities for development of the planned suburb of Otara. Plans are also made for a large new shopping and community centre (see also January 1963). By April 1965 almost 2500 houses have been built in the area, housing approximately 12,000 people.
