may 5, 1789 - The French Revolution Started
Description:
The French Revolution began as a response to social inequality in the French society due to their ‘estates system’. This system separated the society into three separate ‘estates’, The Roman Catholic Clergy, the French Nobility and the peasants. The Third Estate (the peasants) was looked down upon by the other two estates and was excluded from political decision-making. This angered them and drove them to rise up against the nobility.
