The Seven Years' War was a major war that cost hundreds of thousands of people their life, their home and/or their family. It was started by the Austrian Habsburgs in an attempt to regain the province of Silesia which had been taken by Prussia's army. The sides consisted of Prussia, Great Britain and Hanover on one side, and France, Sweden, Austria, Saxony and russia on the other.
