UN unanimously votes to follow Truman's lead to send forces to South Korea out of fear that if they do nothing, something similar to what happened with the Germans will occur again; however, Soviets used their power to veto to stand against this. Truman sent troops to South Korea that were originally stationed in Japan due to the UN resolution
