jul 7, 1950 - UN resolution to aid South Korea
Description:
UN Security Council voted to aid South Korea against North Korea in order to restore international peace and security in the area. (The Soviet Union would have used its veto power to block the resolution if it had been present but the Soviet Union wasn't present as it was boycotting sessions because the UN refused to include Mao's People's republic of China.) UN forces soon joined the U.S.'s forces arriving in South Korea.
